EQ: What Web 2.0 tools will we need to be successful in this class? How could these same tools successfully be used in the workplace?
A DAY ONLY Bellbuster: CNN Student News. We will watch the CNN Student News report together as a class. Then you will need to pick a story reported upon and complete a summary and response in Google Classroom. (If you have headphones you can go to CNN Student News website and begin now.)
B DAY ONLY Bellbuster: Wall Street Journal Summary. Please select an article from today's WSJ and complete a summary and response. Please use Google Classroom to complete this assignment. REMEBER: 7 Sentence mimimum and there is a TIME DEADLINE included.
Lesson Objectives:
1. Today you we will focus on setting up the last two classroom tools that we will use throughout the semester:2. To begin, if you have not already done so, you will need to set up a Weebly account. (REMEMBER: Please make your user name your first name and last initial. Make your page name the same thing. Finally, be certain to save your username and password in your binder!)
3. After creating your site, please create the following pages: HOME, ABOUT ME, CAREER GOALS, PATHWAY MASTERY, CAREER/SERVICE PORTFOLIO, CONTACT ME.
4. Publish your website using your first name and last initial and provide the link to your page in the COMMENTS section in Google Classroom under the appropriate assignment.
5. Create a Wix account and use the following template: 'Entertainment Blog'. This will serve as your service/career portfolio. You can find this template by
1) Selecting the 'Template' link at the top of the page.
2) Click on 'Blog' in the navigation bar to the left
3)Select the template titled "Entertainment Blog." Publish your page to get the URL.
6. Because your Wix link will serve as your CAREER/SERVICE PORTFOLIO, you will need to place the link for your wix page under the corresponding page in your Weebly account.(NOTE: This is how I will check this page!)
7. Finally, please record today's EQ in your binder. We will end class discussing today's EQ. Notes and answers to today's EQ should be included in your binder.
